A Wine Cooler for the Living Room: Harmony That Enhances Your Wine Experience
A room where you entertain, relax, and share a drink: the living room is the perfect place for a wine cabinet—provided it’s not just a piece of equipment, but a true piece of furniture designed to blend harmoniously with the room. EuroCave designs wine cabinets whose design, quiet operation, and finish are on par with any other piece of living room furniture.
The wine rack: a new decorative element for the living room
A wine cooler placed in a living room immediately catches the eye. It sparks conversation, showcases a collection, and reflects personal taste. Choosing the right model, therefore, isn’t just about technical performance—it also shapes the room’s aesthetic.
The EuroCave wine coolers in the Royale and Première Pure lines embrace a minimalist design: clean lines, a black front panel, a flush-mounted handle, and discreet interior lighting. They blend seamlessly into both contemporary and more traditional living rooms, serving as both a piece of furniture and a functional storage solution.
Harmonie: The Perfect Wine Cabinet to Enhance Your Living Room
Combining elegance with wine-storage technology, the Harmonie wine cabinet blends seamlessly into your living room. Its clean lines and high-end finishes make it both a true decorative piece and an optimal storage solution for your bottles.
With a capacity of 50 bottles divided into two compartments with independent temperature settings (6–12°C for whites and 12–18°C for reds), Harmonie accommodates your entire collection. Available in three colors with glass or solid doors, it enhances your interior with customizable ambient lighting in eight colors.

Which wine cooler should you choose for your living room?
Three criteria stand out in this reception room.
Silence Above All Else
EuroCave wine coolers feature a compressor system with an extremely low noise level, typically between 35 and 39 dB—the equivalent of a whisper. This is essential when the wine cooler is located near a sofa, a television, or a reading nook.
The Design
Choose a UV-protective glass finish with an optional solid door, amber LED lighting, and solid “Pierre Chêne” oak shelves to showcase your bottles. EuroCave LEDs emit neither UV rays nor heat, so you can leave the lights on without harming the wine.
The Right Capacity
For a living room, models that hold 50 to 200 bottles are generally sufficient: they keep the essentials within reach without turning the room into a wine cellar. For larger collections, it’s best to consider a secondary cellar in the basement or a dedicated wine storage area.
Aging cellar or serving cellar?
The aging cellar maintains a consistent temperature of around 12 °C, which is ideal for allowing fine wines to mature over several years. The serving cellar features several temperature-controlled zones to bring each wine to its optimal tasting temperature.
For a living room, many of our customers opt for a three-zone wine cellar: they can store some of their bottles for the long term, while still having a few reds and whites ready to be opened. The best of both worlds.
Matching Your Wine Cellar to Your Home's Interior
Three Tips for a Successful Trade Show Debut.
- Placement: against a wall, next to a bookcase, as a counterpart to a TV stand, or as the centerpiece of a tasting area.
- Color: universal matte black, stainless steel front for a loft-style look, or Designer customization to match your furniture.
- Lighting: Carefully adjusted LED lighting showcases the bottles without damaging the wine.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a wine cooler in the living room make noise?
No. EuroCave refrigerators designed for living areas have a very low noise level, ranging from 35 to 39 dB. The anti-vibration system and the compressor’s suspension ensure virtually silent operation, even when placed near a sofa or a reading area.
What size wine cooler should you choose for a living room?
For a living room, models that hold 50 to 200 bottles are the most suitable. Beyond that, the wine cooler becomes too bulky for a living space; in that case, it’s best to consider a secondary wine cooler in the basement or a custom-built solution.
Does the lighting in a wine cellar damage the wine?
No, as long as you use the right lighting. EuroCave LEDs are designed not to emit UV rays or heat, so you can leave the lights on to showcase the bottles without compromising their preservation. The glass door also features an anti-UV coating.
Can you place a wine cooler on a hardwood floor?
Yes, no problem. Just make sure the floor is level (perfect leveling is essential for proper operation and quiet running) and that the flooring can support the weight of the wine cooler once it is full. For large-capacity models (Royale series), we recommend a structural inspection beforehand.
Does a wine cooler give off heat into the room?
Every wine cooler dissipates heat generated by its cooling system. In a freestanding model, heat is dissipated from the back and sides; allow for a minimum clearance of 5 to 10 cm. The amount of heat emitted is very modest and imperceptible when used in a living room.
